Southcentral Region - Statewide Stewardship Initiative Workshop

In the first phase of the Statewide Stewardship Initiative (SSI), you and your colleagues provided valuable input into two new tools aimed at elevating the caliber and collaboration of stewardship work to meet capacity gaps identified by land managers. These tools - The Colorado Outdoor Stewardship Best Practices Guide and a universal map and accomplishment database - are now complete. Thank you for participating in their development. We encourage you to learn more about these tools and help guide next steps in our upcoming regional workshop on March 8 in Poncha Springs

We start this next phase with the news that Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) has announced $1 million of new Outdoor Stewardship Grants and we look forward to future funding opportunities.

We hope you can join us for one of the six regional workshops in early 2019 for the next phase of the SSI. Let’s elevate stewardship together!

Attendees will:

  • Help shape the future of the state’s stewardship community.

  • Learn about the newly published Outdoor Stewardship Best Practices Guide.

  • Receive training on a new universal mapping and accomplishment database.

  • Network with colleagues and make connections for future collaborative efforts, including joint fundraising.

  • Gain insights into emerging funding opportunities through Great Outdoors Colorado’s stewardship grant program.

Everyone is invited!  We encourage outdoor stewardship professionals, volunteers, land managers, and other interested individuals to attend. For questions and more information please contact Dean Winstanley (dean@voc.org, 303-715-1010 x119).
